DESCRIPTION:The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce\, Des Plaines Park District\, Des Plaines Historical Society\, and the Des Plaines Public Library are joining together to create a full day of activities for you and your family so you can enjoy a safe and fun day for Halloween.\n\n \n\nThe festivities begin with a costumed parade. Parade will be led by "Kiwi the Clown" beginning at 10:00 a.m. \n\n \n\nThe Chamber will provide a trick or treat bag with a fun prize inside and then after the parade they will have a chance to "trick or treat"\n\nat the chamber participating businesses throughout Des Plaines.\n\n\n\nOther Family activities are planned for the day as follows:\n\n\n\nDay of the Dead - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.\n\nThe annual Dia de los Muertos sugar skull painting at the\n\nHistory Center\, 781 Pearson\n\n$3.00 for non-members\, $2.00 for members.\n\n\n\nPumpkin Races - Noon- 3:00 p.m.\n\nDes Plaines Optimist Club hosts their annual race at the Kinder House.\n\n\n\nHalloween Hoopla  Drop-In Crafts\n\n1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Des Plaines Public Library - Free\n\nDrop-in to make a slightly scary craft and celebrate Halloween - Sponsored by the Des Plaines Park District\n\n\n\nThe Silly Spooky Magic Family Show - Ticket Required\n\n3:00 at the Des Plaines Public Library - Free\n\nEveryone will enjoy a fun and interactive magic show and spooky stories.\n\nSponsored by the Des Plaines Public Library
